Hi, I am Alan Johnson and am a student with a passion for health, science, exercise and LEGO. One constant in my life has been the presence of Lego. I have experienced depression over and over again, and twice I have been struck by a car while cycling. Throughout any trying, defining point in my life when I felt at my lowest, I always had a Lego set at my side, to offer me a healthy escape from the world around me. The fun, creativity, imagination and intellectual challenges I face when I build a Lego set, either from the instructions or my own creation, returns me to reality, with a refreshed perspective. Every experience you endure in your life, will change who you are forever. You gain new wisdom to better control yourself in any given situation. I feel that having Lego in my life played an integral part in that growth. It is a constant for me in an everchanging world. My grandmother, Anna Kindlova Rohan, gave me my first Lego set (Lego set 7668), and always encouraged me to be creative and deviate from the instructions to build what you imagine.
